Frequently Asked Questions

When should a designer be asked into a project?

As soon as possible, since a designer helps with overall concepts, programming,

and space planning.  When dealing with new home construction, it is best to introduce a designer early so that the designer can contribute to the architectural design as well as finish  material selection.

Are initial consultations free?

Yes, the first consultation is made at your home to establish project requirements

and client desires at no charge.

How do you make your income?

Hourly consulting and purchasing.

Can I have a fixed fee?

Depending on the character of the job, an alternate fixed fee structure can be arranged.

Can I hire you for just a one-time consultation?

Yes, the minimum consultation fee is hourly with a $500 minimum.

Can cost be determined before the beginning of a project?

Absolutely. Budget consultations and contractor estimates are accomplished prior to any purchasing of goods or materials.

Is it more expensive to buy furniture from an Interior Designer?

Not necessarily. Designers sell furniture at wholesale cost, plus a percentage.

Must the designer handle all purchases?

No, purchases can be done by the designer or by others of your choice.

As an option, some items, such as accessories, can be purchased alongside the client and billed in an hourly-consulting fee.

Can a project be approached in phases?

Yes, it is always a good idea to do concept planning at an early stage, then phase

your project to the budget.

How long do jobs usually take?

meet all of the clients needs and desires.

Yes, those that are too ambitious for the funds allowed.
